Born on 10th June 1966, Prof. Shukla has been known as an academician with good academic record. He is hard working and has an aptitude for result-oriented as well as time-bound research for the development and growth of society and industry. Prof. Shukla has done his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2007; M. Tech. in Civil Engineering from University of Roorkee (presently Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee) in 1989 and B. Tech. in Civil Engineering from Madan Mohan Malviya Engineering College Gorakhpur (presently Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology Gorakhpur), in 1987.
Prof. Shukla has guided 28 M. Tech. and 02 Ph.D. student in the field of Environmental Engineering and is guiding 04 M. Tech. and 06 Ph.D. students. He has published 89 research papers out of which 39 are published in journals of repute having total Thomson Reuters ISI Impact factor based on JCR more than 33. Prof. Shukla has co-authored 02 edited book chapters and 01 book titled “Foundation of Environmental Studies” which is a publication of the U.P. Technical University, Lucknow. The research publications of Prof. Shukla are well cited (>250) in reviews and research articles. His h-index is 07 and i10-index is 06 based on information available with Google Scholar. He has organized 07 Seminar/ Workshop/ Conferences at National and International Level. He has also delivered 09 invited expert lectures in various conferences/ programs in India. He has received Surendra Nath Mukherjee Memorial Prize from Institution of Engineers (India) on December 14, 2012 for research paper titled “Water quality index of surface water quality in an industrial area in Kanpur City” published in Institution of Engineers (India) Journal-Environmental Engineering, volume 92, page 18-22 during 2010-11. Prof. Shukla is Life member of Institution of Engineers (India); Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE); and Indian water Works Association (IWWA). Prof. Shukla has also received grant for two projects from AICTE as co-coordinator (MODROB proposal 'Modernization of Environmental Engineering Laboratory') and co-P.I ('Development of water quality indicator for major northern Indian rivers using remote sensing').
Prof. Shukla has been involved in various administrative and financial aspects of the Institute. At institute level, he has performed very well as Dy. Coordinator M. Tech. (Environmental Engineering) Program; Dy. Coordinator M. Tech. (Biotechnology) Program; Proctor; Warden; Center Superintendent; Nodal Officer (Procurement) TEQIP-I; Coordinator (Financial Management) TEQIP-II; Coordinator (Procurement) TEQIP-II; In-charge Central Store; In-charge NSS; In-charge Civil Maintenance; In-Charge Horticulture and In-charge Electrical Maintenance. At university level, Prof. Shukla worked as Coordinator, TEQIP-III; Dean, Under Graduate Studies and Entrepreneurship; Associate Dean, Resource Generation and Alumni Relations; Convener, BOS of Environmental Engineering; Group Leader, Flying Squad; Center Superintendent; Head Examiner and Member, Inspection Committee for affiliation of Institutes. At State/ National level worked as State Project Administrator of SPIU, Uttar Pradesh; Expert Volunteer/ Evaluator for National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE for accrediting technical Institutions; Member, Expert Visit Committee (EVC) for AICTE; Member, Expert Committee of UGC; Member Co-ordinator, Peer Team, NAAC; Member, BOS of Civil Engineering at MMMUT Gorakhpur, BIET Jhansi, Lucknow University; Member, Inspection Committee for affiliation of Institutes, Avadh University.
