The central library of IET is a place where students find peace and solace for their studies. The aim of the Library is to facilitate information services and access to bibliographic, full text both in digital and printed resources to support the academic and information requirements of all students, faculty members and staff. It functions under a library team which comprises of Sr. Faculty as overall In charge and deputy In charge along with assistant librarian, cataloguers, library information assistants and Senior assistants. The library is well equipped with text books and reference books catering to the need of UG courses and PG courses. The reference section of the library is spread in a big area with natural light and air making the environ fresh. The library is automated with KOHA providing the right platform to maintain its webpage. The central library provides following facilities to all students of UG, PG and research scholars
- The students have an access to 19157 titles and 56491 volumes.
- Member of Web of Science (Clarivate) through AICTE
- Life Membership of Institution of Engineers (IET), India
- Member of Nalanda E-consortium of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University through which remote access is provided for the e-journals: (a) Science Direct (b) Taylor & Francis (c) Wiley (d) Springer
- E-books through Nalanda E-consortium
- Students and Staff can search for Books online using WebOPAC.
- The cataloguing of the books has also been digitized which has paved an easy way for the students and staff to search the books.
- The library has book bank facility.
- Library has a good reading room facility where students are encouraged to explore the books and study materials.
- E-library facility is also being imparted in Central Library where e-contents can be accessed through networked computers.
- IET Central library has also registered in National Digital Library of India (NDLI) club.
All the e-resources are either available at intranet https://opac.ietlucknow.ac.in/ or through MyLoft remote access software.

Students can borrow upto three books for a period of fifteen days. Some books (called study room books) are issued after 4 p. m. for one night only and that too only against the I - card. All this, all the year round, without any but three holidays.
The Book Bank within the Library provides a facility to, SC/ST students of issuing up to six books and general students one book for a semester. The library also has a photocopying facility.
