Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow has organized One-Day Conference “Biospark” on National Science Day
The Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow organized a one-day conference, "BIOSPARK, UTTAR PRADESH, AN EMERGING DESTINATION FOR INNOVATION DRIVEN INDIGENOUS TECHNOLOGIES", held February 28, 2024, at Ram Prasad Bismil auditorium, IET campus, Lucknow to mark the celebration of National Science Day.
The event started at 10:00 AM with a divine performance on Ganesh stuti. Dr.Neha Verma, Assistant Professor , Department of Biotechnology opened the event highlighting importance of science day and giving glimpse of event ,Prof. B. N. Mishra, Head, Department of Biotechnology, welcomed the dignitaries and sponsors by addressing the crowd. He also talked about development of Uttar Pradesh and upcoming employement opportunities. Dr. Awnish Kumar Awasthi, Chief Advisor hon’ble CM of UP was present as Chief Guest of the event.
Dr. Vineet Kansal, Director IET Lucknow, welcomed the dignitaries and introduced them to the crowd. He also talked about the importance of innovation and self reliance.
Dr. G. N. Singh, Advisor, hon’ble CM enlightened the students about the oath of one trillion economy and also talked about the steps to be taken to achieve the goal under the dynamic leadership of honourable CM of UP Yogi Adityanath. Uttar Pradesh will experience the indigenous development in upcoming years. He spoke about the importance of self reliance in the manufacturing of medical devices. He motivated students to become job providers instead of jobseekers as entrepreneurship will play an important role for the future of Viksit Bharat.
Prof. Dr. R.K. Khandal Chancellor SDGI Global University, Ghaziabad stated that India has the maximum FDA approved manufacturing units.
He told the inspiring story of Nobel prize winner Dr. C.V Raman to students. He explained about the prosperous Bharat in harmony with nature. He also introduced students to different aspects of Viksit Bharat and Role of Uttar Pradesh in it. He told the students about the vision of Atmanirbhar bharat in upcoming years. Dr. Khandal explained about the path to be taken for technology and innovations and importance of adopting 2g Ethanol policy and renewable energy.
Chief Guest Shri Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Chief Advisor to the Hon'ble CM Yogi Adityanath with other guests inaugurated 'INDIA'S FIRST SMALLEST COMMERCIAL 3D BIOPRINTER'. The printer is designed by emerging startup company bioTox solutions. The CEO and founder of the company Dr. Shiv Pujan Shukla elaborated and explained the components and working of the 3D bioprinter. The significance of 3D printer and its use in industry was also told to the students.
The event further moved on to two parallel sessions marked with A Panel Discussion on Uttar Pradesh a Destination for Global Research and Innovation, Ideas to Market, and Vibrant Startup Ecosystem;
Eminent scientists from different CSIR labs and National Brain Research Institute participated in panel discussion. and Academic/scientific poster presentations, startup showcases, idea hackathon, science quiz followed by prize distribution. The idea hackathon was organised jointly by Navyug Navachar Foundation and IET. The aim of Navyug Navachar Foundation is to promote startup culture and entrepreneurship.
Chief guest also inaugurated the magazine BIOSPARK - 'Innovation is the key to unlocking the future'. This conference aimed at bringing together stakeholders from academia, industry, and government to discuss the advancements and future prospects of innovation-driven indigenous technologies in Uttar Pradesh. The event showcased the state's potential as a hub for research, development, and commercialization of cutting-edge technologies. Approximately 1000 students registered for this conference from several colleges and universities such as Amity institute of pharmacy, Integral University, S. R. Memorial, Goel Institute of Management, R. R. Group of Institutions, Maharishi University and Institute of Information Technology, Noida International School of Medical Sciences and Bansal Institute of Technology.
