Prof. Arun Kumar Tiwari is a distinguished academician currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), an autonomous constituent institute of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, India. In addition to his academic role, he holds the Dean, Resource Generation & Alumni Relations positions at AKTU and Officer-In-Charge, Training & Placement at IET Lucknow. Prof. Tiwari has also previously served in various key capacities, including Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. A testament to his excellence in research, Prof. Tiwari has been recognized in the Top 2% of Scientists in the World by Stanford University and Elsevier for four consecutive years (2021–2024) in the Mechanical Engineering and Energy Research category. He has made significant contributions to the dissemination of knowledge, particularly through the development of e-content on Fluid Mechanics, which has been broadcast on the Swayam Prabha Channel, benefiting students across India. Prof. Tiwari began his academic career with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from BIET, Jhansi. He pursued his M. Tech at IIT Roorkee and earned his Ph.D. from IIT (BHU), Varanasi.
In his illustrious research career, Prof. Tiwari has mentored 10 Ph.D. scholars and over 15 M. Tech students. His research portfolio includes 125+ research publications with an impressive h-index of 47, i-10 index of 88 and over 8000+ citations (Google Scholar) his work has garnered significant attention in his field. In addition to his journal articles, Prof. Tiwari has published 24 book chapters and edited a comprehensive book titled “Nano-refrigerants and Nano-lubricants: Fundamentals and Applications”. His research has been prominently featured in high-impact journals i.e., Progress in Energy and Combustion Science (Impact Factor: 32.0) & Physics Reports (Impact Factor: 23.9). Prof. Tiwari has made substantial contributions to his field, with over 30+ of his research papers receiving more than 100 citations each. He was honoured with the “AKTU Best Teacher Award” in 2020 by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh. His research interests lie in cutting-edge areas, including Heat Transfer, Nanofluids, Heat Exchangers, Carbon Capture, Storage for Achieving Net Zero Goals, Green Hydrogen Production from Renewable Sources, Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Technology for Waste Heat Utilization and Electricity Generation. Prof. Tiwari also received a project entitled “Artificial Intelligence-Based Solar Drying Solution Enhanced with Nanofluid and Thermal Energy Storage Integration for Agricultural and Food Products” from Council of Science and Technology (CST), Government of Uttar Pradesh for a duration of 3 years (2024-2027). Prof. Arun Kumar Tiwari continues to inspire with his dedication to teaching, research, and innovation, leaving a lasting legacy in the field of mechanical engineering.
